JaMarcus Russell shares how Nick Saban isn't stranger to pulling starter for freshman QB

Stop me if you've heard this one.

Nick Saban's team is down at halftime, so he inserts freshman quarterback into the lineup. Team wins.

Of course, that was the script when Tua Tagovailoa replaced Jalen Hurts in the second half of Alabama's win over Georgia in the College Football Playoff national championship last season.

It isn't, however, the first time he's made the move.

Former Oakland and LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell, who played for Saban in Baton Rouge, joined me and Lee Shirvanian on "The Opening Kickoff" on WNSP-FM 105.5 on Thursday to talk about his job as a quarterbacks coach at his alma mater Williamson High School.
