The University of Alabama knew Zach Muckenhirn was dealing. North Dakota was watching Geoffrey Bramblett chew through its lineup.

Bramblett just got a little more help than Muckenhirn did. Alabama beat North Dakota 2-1 thanks to a flawless defensive performance, clutch hitting and a perfect inning from its bullpen. The Fighting Hawks, on the other hand, had three errors. Their bullpen couldn't stop Alabama's ninth-inning rally that ended the game with a walk-off RBI single from Keith Holcombe.

"The good thing on our end, Geoff really set the stage and was really just as good," Alabama coach Mitch Gaspard said.
