Nicole Auerbach at The Athletic spoke with Mississippi State president Mark Keenum on Monday, who also serves as the chairman of the CFP Board of Managers, and he had this to say about potential playoff expansion:
“We have time,” Keenum said. “We have six years left on our current contract (with ESPN). We have time to be forthright and diligent in how (we make changes) and if we want to make changes. And, do we want to make changes? We’re very pleased with the current system we have in place.”
I have been on the record saying that I’d be just fine without a playoff at all, but if we are going to have one I certainly don’t want to see it expanded.
