Kelly Kretschman stands 5-foot-6, but put a bat in her hands and she looks 10 feet tall.
Maybe it's the tattoos on her right forearm and biceps, which flex at pitchers when she takes her left-handed stance.
It could be the war paint smeared under her eyes, or those broad shoulders atop the muscular frame of a world-class athlete.
Mostly, though, it's in the eyes. Peer into them as she digs in while in the batter's box and you are looking into the soul of an assassin.
