After leading underdog North Carolina State on an unlikely run to the Sweet 16, former Alabama guard Trevor Lacey has decided to forgo his final season of college eligibility and enter the NBA draft, N.C. State announced Wednesday.
A former prized recruit for Alabama, Lacey left the Tide and transferred to the Wolfpack in 2013 following his sophomore season.
Lacey sat out last season under NCAA transfer rules before averaging a team-high 15.7 points per game for N.C. State this season while also posting averages of 4.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 0.9 steals.
"I would like to thank the coaching staff, university and fans for a wonderful experience the last two years at NC State, but I'd like to declare for the NBA draft," Lacey said in a statement.
