Former Alabama quarterback announces he is running for lieutenant governor

Former Alabama quarterback and National Champion, AJ McCarron has announced he will be running for Lieutenant Governor of the state of Alabama.

McCarron is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He plans to run for the office in 2026.

The former signal caller played his high school football at St. Paul’s Episcopal in Mobile. He suited up for the Crimson Tide from 2010 to 2013 before being selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2014 NFL Draft.

McCarron has stepped away from playing football and has used his platform to discuss the sport and Alabama football across multiple platforms in recent years.
