Former Alabama safety and South Alabama assistant coach Kelvin Sigler was one of three new defensive coaches announced at Jacksonville State on Tuesday.

Sigler, a Mobile native, is the Gamecocks' new safeties coach and associate head coach. He played at Alabama from 1998-2001 and was South Alabama's cornerbacks coach the last two seasons, following stints as an assistant at Northern Illinois and Alabama and head coach at Blount High School.

JSU also hired Andrew Warwick as defensive coordinator/linebackers coach and Landius Wilkerson as defensive ends coach. They replace three coaches who took jobs on the FBS level: David Blackwell (East Carolina), Brandon Hall (Troy) and former Alabama player Nick Gentry (UAB).
