Ex-Tide WR Tyrone Prothro takes coaching job with Alabama high school

Former Alabama wide receiver Tyrone Prothro has dreamed of coaching football since his playing career came to an end in 2005. His dream has been realized now that he has been named an assistant coach at Spanish Fort (Ala.) High, near Mobile.

AL.com reported that Prothro will handle the inside receivers and help out with the school’s junior varsity basketball program.

Prothro’s Crimson Tide career came to an abrupt end when he suffered a gruesome leg injury in a 2005 game against Florida; he has had 11 surgeries on the leg.
