Former Alabama quarterback Blake Barnett has committed to Arizona State, he announced Monday on Twitter.
Barnett, a redshirt freshman, left Alabama four games into the season in late September after failing to win the starting quarterback job over true freshman Jalen Hurts.
Barnett, a former five-star recruit, took an official visit at Arizona State this past weekend.
Since leaving Alabama, Barnett has been enrolled at Palomar College, a community college in his native Southern California.
Because Barnett left midseason, NCAA Bylaw 14.5.6 states he will eligible to play after Week 4 next season as long as he completes 12 transferrable credits per term, holds at least a 2.
