Former Alabama linebacker Eryk Anders' decision to take a fight on six days' notice in a heavier weight class didn't work out as well as he hoped on Saturday night.
Thiago Santos defeated Anders by technical knockout at UFC Fight Night 137 in Sao Paulo.
While the fight had plenty of the expected action with the fighters on their feet, Anders had several takedowns of Santos in the light heavyweight bout -- and the final one did not go well for the Birmingham fighter.
Over the final seconds of the third round, Santos repeatedly pounded his elbow behind Anders' right ear as his opponent held him around the waist.
