Former Alabama standout Courtney Upshaw won't be available when NFL free agency begins at 3 p.m. CST Thursday. Upshaw is re-signing with the Atlanta Falcons, the NFL Network reported on Thursday morning.
Upshaw joined the Falcons last offseason on a one-year, $1.25 million contract and is staying with Atlanta after helping them reach the Super Bowl.
Upshaw spent his first four NFL seasons as an outside linebacker with the Baltimore Ravens, but he changed positions with Atlanta. Listed on the roster as a defensive tackle, Upshaw also played defensive end for the Falcons.
