During at least one drill at Alabama's open practice on Saturday, Henry Ruggs was leading the punt returner line and was the first player fielding punts.
While it's unclear where the freshman wide receiver stands in the competition for that job, what is clear is that Crimson Tide coaches are looking for ways to take advantage of Ruggs' speed.
In addition to being in the mix for playing time on offense, Ruggs is also being evaluated at both punt returner and kick returner.
"I guess you don't really, truly trust anybody until you see them do it in a game, but he's done a nice job (at punt returner) in practice," coach Nick Saban said.
