Coosa Christian secured the 2025 Class 2A State Championship in the final seconds of the game when Mac Long broke free for 20 yards to pull ahead 29-22 over Lanett with 22 seconds left in the game.
The win gave Coosa Christian its first state championship in school history. It is Propst’s sixth championship as a head coach.
The Conquerors trailed Lanett 22-14 with 5:30 left in the game. Kylen Johnson tied the game up for Coosa Christian with 3:20 left in the game with a four-yard rushing touchdown. Coosa forced a Lanett punt on the following drive, setting up Long’s game-winning touchdown.
