Manny Diaz and the Duke Blue Devils have picked up a commitment from DeShawn Spencer of Saraland High School.
Spencer is considered a three-star recruit on multiple sites. He chose Duke over Maryland, Wisconsin, Houston and others.
“Being able to make a difference is why I chose Duke,” Spencer told Touchdown Alabama. “It is so family-oriented. Everyone showed love. The campus is beautiful, and the academics are among the best in the nation. When people think of Duke, wide receivers do not necessarily come to mind, so I feel I could be that player that really set the standard for the receiver position and change the narrative around the program.
