Breaking down the importance of adding Cam Calhoun to Alabama’s secondary

Alabama added Utah transfer cornerback Cam Calhoun to the roster this offseason. Calhoun’s presence in the secondary will be vastly important to the defense’s success during the 2025 season. Touchdown Alabama explains why.

Calhoun began his college career at Michigan before transferring to Utah last season. In one year with the Utes, Calhoun recorded 21 tackles and nine pass deflections.

Alabama lost its top two options at the HUSKY position this offseason with Malachi Moore turning pro and Devonta Smith transferring to Notre Dame. While Calhoun played primarily boundary corner for the Utes, he could have an opportunity to play a lot at the HUSKY position.
