It is used as a moniker for former Penn State head coach James Franklin. I am unaware of Frankin ever being called 'Jamo' before now. It fits for the former SEC coach because his Nittany Lions teams have frequently been jammed when playing ranked teams.
Franklin is best known as the Power Four head coach who 'can't win big games.' In his last four-plus seasons at Penn State, Franklin's Nittany Lions teams were 6-14 against ranked teams.
