AL.com All-Access: Some thoughts on the 2018 NFL draft

The first round of the 2018 NFL draft is in the books, and there were some surprises -- even some shockers.

There are still six rounds to go, though, and plenty of in-state talent left on the board. But after one day, here are some thoughts we had:

1. Alabama continues to dominate the first round

The Crimson Tide had four players selected Thursday -- defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick (No. 11, Dolphins), defensive tackle Da'Ron Payne (No. 13, Redskins), linebacker Rashaan Evans (No. 22, Titans) and wide receiver Calvin Ridley (No. 26, Falcons).

That makes 26 first-rounders for Alabama since 2009, and at least one at every offensive/defensive position group except .
