Alabama's Jake Coker injures foot

Senior quarterback Jake Coker is sidelined for the foreseeable future after a foot injury, UA coach Nick Saban announced Monday afternoon.

“Jake Coker has a minor foot injury that we think will keep him out of practice for several days,” Saban said in a release. “Our physicians anticipate a full recovery.”

Coker, the senior quarterback from Mobile, participated in Saturday’s scrimmage but was not at practice Monday morning.

He is in competition for the starting quarterback job with David Cornwell, Alec Morris, Cooper Bateman and Blake Barnett after serving as back-up to Blake Sims in 2014.
