One of Alabama's young wide receivers will miss the rest of the spring due to an injury he suffered during the Crimson Tide's scrimmage on Saturday.
Redshirt freshman Tyrell Shavers "hurt a ligament in his big toe" and underwent surgery, Nick Saban said Wednesday night.
Shavers will miss the rest of the spring but will be fine for the season, Saban said.
Prior to suffering the injury, the 6-foot-6, 210-pound Shavers had earned some good reviews for his play during the spring and is in good position to contribute in at least a backup capacity for the Tide this year.
