Alabama prep top 10 NFL passers: Athens' Philip Rivers keeps on throwing

In his 11th season as the starting quarterback for the San Diego Chargers, former Athens High School star Philip Rivers led the AFC with 33 touchdown passes, threw for more than 4,000 yards for the eighth time and received his sixth Pro Bowl invitation.

With 4,386 more passing yards in 2016, Rivers has just about lapped his peer group of players from Alabama high schools. With 45,833 career passing yards in the NFL, Rivers has 17,895 more passing yards than the former state prep quarterback who's next on the list - Foley's Ken Stabler.
