Alabama LB commits named to HS Butkus Award watchlist

Two of Alabama’s 2021 linebacker commits were named to the High School Butkus Award watchlist Monday.

Kendrick Blackshire and Deontae Lawson were listed on the 2020 watchlist. This award is given to the best senior high school linebacker in the country every year. Dylan Moses was the last Alabama player to win the award when he earned as a senior at IMG Academy in 2016.

Blackshire verbally committed to Alabama July 14. The Texas product comes in at 6-2 and 240 pounds. He is looking to rebound during his senior season as he had to miss his entire junior season with an ACL injury.
