As Alabama had a bit of a sluggish offensive performance on Saturday, still struggling to establish an efficient ground game, the Tide’s defense was stifling against LSU all night, holding the Tigers to just nine points on three field goals.
Part of what led to the Tide’s defensive success was its ability to create plays when it really needed to, like forcing a field goal after the Tigers had forced a turnover, gotten the ball with good field position, and driven inside the 10-yard line.
On top of that, the defense was able to force three fumbles, with the defense recovering two of them.
