The race for another Alabama football National Championship is about to begin. First, there is a weekend of recruiting activity in Tuscaloosa as the Alabama Crimson Tide hosts the second Champions Cookout of the summer.
As it was last summer, the second Cookout will have a smaller attendance than June. Tide fans should not be alarmed. Most of the recruits this weekend are a combination of 2020 verbal commits and 2021 prospects.
That does not mean, there are no important 2020 visitors. The Alabama football staff might pull off a flip or two this weekend from a couple of top 2020 prospects.
