Alabama Football Recruiting 2020: Tide gets commitment from top in-state linebacker

Hailing from Theodore, Alabama, Demouy Kennedy was a one-time Auburn commit that backed off of his pledge in March. Alabama offered him a scholarship in May, and he committed to the Tide a month later after attending a camp in Tuscaloosa.

At 6’2” 204, he’s a bit light for a linebacker, and Alabama is looking to use him as somewhat of a hybrid player. He’s an explosive and relentless blitzer, whether as an edge rusher or coming up the middle, and also has the speed to drop into pass coverage. From the start, the Tide apparently plans to use him like Dylan Moses in his freshman year— playing both middle linebacker and blitzing off the edge.
