He graduated from Pinson (Ala.) Valley High School as a three-time 6A State Champion.
Ga’Quincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry arrived on the University of Alabama campus as a five-star athlete in 2021.
He played basketball and football in high school, and had dreams of doing it in college. McKinstry got opportunities as a cornerback last season, posting 17 tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup. He earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team for the Southeastern Conference. McKinstry has a lot of confidence going into his sophomore season, especially with him performing offseason training. He’s now looked at as a leader in the secondary, but he is putting one sport to the side.
