Alabama Crimson Tide: Why a win in the Citrus Bowl matters

No offense to anyone affiliated with the Citrus Bowl but it is quite a ‘come-down’ for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Not since Jan. 1, 2011 has the Alabama Crimson Tide been so far down the bowl game pecking order.

For a program that has played in a National Championship game, six out of the preceding eight seasons, 2019 has been a blow. What the Citrus Bowl affords is a statement opportunity. An Alabama Crimson Tide win will set a new tone. It would say not so fast to the claims the Alabama Football Dynasty is over. It would turn the page from the disappointment of 2019 to optimism for 2020.
