In a slower paced game, Alabama was able to go on a late game run to beat Iona and advance to the next round. Early on, the game featured multiple scoring outbursts by each team, but by halftime the pace had slowed to a grinding halt. Midway through the 2nd half, Alex Reese drained a 3 that seemed to spark new life into Alabama, and the Crimson Tide carried that momentum to a win.
Alabama awaits the winner of the UCONN/Maryland game to see which team they play in the round of 32. Nate Oats can use this as a learning experience and have his team focused on their task at hand.
