The unexpected decision of Charles Bediako to leave Alabama Basketball after two seasons had a quick impact. With no Big Charles on the 2023-24 roster, the CBS Preseason 25+1seriously downgraded the Crimson Tide.
Prior to Bediako’s decision, Alabama was ranked No. 7 by CBS. In the latest ranking, the Alabama Crimson Tide plummeted to No. 18.
Was the adjustment too harsh? CBS continues to factor in returns by Mark Sears and Jahvon Quinerly. The incoming class is solid. Two transfers should give the Tide a boost, especially in offensive output. But, Alabama teams don’t often have to adjust to the loss of two outstanding players like Brandon Miller and Noah Clowney – and then lose a returning starter rim protector.
