The University of Alabama and head men’s basketball coach Avery Johnson didn’t wait long to fill the spot left vacant by Scott Pospichal. With the hire, they added an associate head coach with over 20 years experience as an assistant and head coach.
Working as an ESPN analyst this season, Pelphrey was most recently at Florida in a coaching capacity as an assistant for four seasons.
He was also head coach at Arkansas from 2007-2011 and spent a total of his 14 of his 22 years of coaching in the Southeastern Conference.
