The Alabama baseball team kicked off their 2016 campaign this past weekend against the Maryland Terrapins and also had the chance to show off their new home with the newly-renovated Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The debut of the new “Joe” was made even better with the Tide’s series win over a team that will more than likely see the NCAA Tournament at season’s ending.
Alabama took the bookend games from Maryland on Friday and Sunday but dropped the Saturday contest with a 9-5 loss.
During the Friday night game, the Tide christened the new park in the most fitting way during the bottom of the first inning.
