Alabama athletics participates in social media Blackout Tuesday unification

Just like thousands of others across the country, the University of Alabama participated in the Blackout Tuesday movement across social media.

Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne also posted the photo to his twitter account.

The Blackout Tuesday movement was created by two women named Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang as a day to reflect on what has transpired over the past week and more.

“In response to the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other black citizens at the hands of the police,” read the movement’s website. “#TheShowMustBePaused is an initiative created by two black women in music in observance in the long-standing racism and inequality that exists from the boardroom to the boulevard.
