Former NFL defensive end Wallace Gilberry has found plenty to keep him busy in retirement.

He has a trucking company and a promotions outfit. Earlier this year, Gilberry hosted his annual Easter egg hunt for local youngsters, and he's planning a flag-football league for Baldwin County children this summer. He might end up in the movies. And he's building an outhouse.

Amid the burgeoning bustle of bulging Baldwin County, Gilberry often can be found out back of a house more than 100 years old in the Bromley community, where his family is deeply entrenched.
