Kalen DeBoer said Ty Simpson and Austin Mack took most of the reps with Alabama football’s first-team offense during the Tide’s second scrimmage.
Simpson and Mack are both in the running to be Alabama’s next starting quarterback along with Keelon Russell. DeBoer revealed Friday the two older signal callers got most of the reps because they have more years over Russell in terms of just being college athletes.
“They all kind of got their shot with the ones and twos, especially just because they’re older, Keelon’s doing a great job, but with Ty and Austin, Keelon definitely works in,” DeBoer said.
