Noblesville, Ind. – The Akron Zips women's golf team moved up to fifth overall after 36-holes of the Mid-American Conference Championship at the Purgatory Golf Club. The Zips fired a 302 (+14) team score while freshman Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) carded a 1-under 71 to remain at the top of the leaderboard.
"The first and second rounds were fairly consistent," Zips' head coach Jenny King said. "We have to keep it steady yet again tomorrow."
Kent State turned a four-stroke deficit into a three-stroke advantage over the 10-team field with team-low 285 (-3) second round score.
