Zips’ Football Schedule Announced for 2017 Season

CLEVELAND — The Mid-American Conference announced the 2017 football schedule on Wednesday, and the University of Akron football team will play on national television a minimum of three times.

Under the guidance of sixth-year head coach Terry Bowden, Akron opens the 2017 season at Penn State (Sept. 2). Non-conference games include: at home against Arkansas Pine Bluff (Sept. 9) and Iowa State (Sept. 16); and at Troy (Sept. 23).

The Zips open MAC play at Bowling Green on Sept. 30. Homecoming is slated for Oct. 7 against Ball State. UA then travels West Division foes Western Michigan on Oct.
