The Zips fell to 15-20 overall and 4-5 in MAC play, while the Chippewas improved to 22-10 overall and 7-2 in the league.
The game, which was postponed due to snow yesterday and wet field conditions this morning, became a pitching duel. Both UA freshman lefty Lexie Handley (Mogadore, Ohio) and CMU's Rachael Knapp went the distance for their teams.
After 11 scoreless innings, the Chippewas' bats exploded in the top the 12th inning, scoring four runs on four hits.
