Women’s Tennis Completes Day Two at ITA Midwest Regionals

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The University of Akron women's tennis team concluded the second day of compettion at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Friday at Michigan State's Indoor Tennis Facility.

"Today was a good day overall for us," head coach Brandon Padgett said. "We came away with solid single results, but I am most impressed with our doubles play. All three teams picked up wins in their opening round matches, which has no happened for awhile at Regionals for us."

In the consolation qualifying singles round, Carli Knezevich (Austin, Texas) captured a 6-1, 6-2 defeat of Valpo's Dao Sysouvanh while Luisa Echeverry (Cali, Columbia) took down Mariya Kostyuk from Chicago State, 3-6, 6-4, 10-4.
