MONTREAL, Canada – A 25-7 second-quarter scoring difference proved to be the deciding factor that lifted the University of Laval to a 79-73 exhibition triumph over the University of Akron women's basketball team on Monday (Aug. 22) night at the Champlain Saint-Lambert Gymnasium.
"I am definitely disappointed with the loss," said head coach Jodi Kest. "I thought we came out flat in the second quarter and got into a little bit of foul trouble. We are here to develop chemistry and learn from these games so hopefully tomorrow we will come back better."
Sophomore Megan Sefcik (Austintown, Ohio) led all scorers with 21 points, fueled by four 3-pointers.
