AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron (5-12, 0-5 MAC) volleyball team fell to Mid-American Conference opponent Bowling Green State University (12-6, 2-3 MAC) by a score of 3-1 on Friday night at James A. Rhodes Arena.
Akron started off the match struggling, as the squad fell 25-21 in the first set. However, UA rebounded by taking a commanding second set, 25-19. The Zips would suffer setbacks in the final two sets by scores of 25-19 and a close 25-23.
Sophomore Kayla Gwodzd (Temperance, Mich.) registered her first double-double of the season with a team-high 15 kills and and 11 digs.
