KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The University of Akron Zips fell in three sets (18-25, 19-25, 19-25) Friday night to Western Michigan at the University Arena.
Akron (5-14, 0-7) was held to a .031 hitting percentage while the Broncos' struck a .248 mark throughout the contest. Freshman Elya Karsner (Frankfort, Ky.) led UA offensively with nine kills while senior Brenna Mack (Mound, Minn.) was the defensive leader with 13 digs.
Senior setter Karley Kusan (Columbus, Ohio) dished out 20 assists and sophomore Abbey Pawlak (Sylvania, Ohio) also added a match-high four service aces.
