AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron volleyball team picked up an exciting 3-2 victory Friday evening against Kent State at James A. Rhodes Arena (25-27, 25-21, 31-33, 25-21, 15-8).
Trailing two sets to one, UA out-hit the KSU in the final two sets to rally for its second win in Mid-American Conference play to improve to 7-16 overall (2-9 MAC). The result also gives Akron a half-point in the Crystal Clinic Wagon Wheel Challenge standings, knotting the score at 1.5.
With the win, the Zips are now 3-2 in five set matches. The victory also marked the second time this season that Akron has lost the first set and went on to win the match.
