AKRON, Ohio– The University of Akron's Varsity "A" Hall of Fame committee is seeking nominations for its 2017 Sports Hall of Fame class.
For the second consecutive year, the Hall of Fame inductions will be held during Homecoming weekend (Oct. 6-8). The 2017 Class will participate in the Homecoming parade, be inducted at a brunch ceremony, and be honored at halftime of the football game against Ball State.
To be eligible for UA's Sports Hall of Fame, nominees must meet the following criteria:
√ Former Zips' student-athlete
√ Must have earned a bachelor's degree
√ Must be 10 years removed from eligibility expiration
Currently, the UA Varsity "A" Hall of Fame has inducted 323 athletes, coaches, and administrators.
