CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team participated in day two of the Cleveland State Viking Invitational at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion on Saturday, Oct. 8.
The Zips split singles action with Duquesne as Sophia Geier (Burgebrach, Germany) led the way at the No. 2 spot by taking down Kylie Isaacs, 6-1, 6-1. Luisa Echeverry (Cali, Columbia) battled to a 6-0, 3-6, 1-0 (8) No. 4 singles victory over Megan Wasson. At No. 5 singles, Rita Pedroso (Porto, Portugal) overpowered Sara Mitrovic, 6-2, 6-3.
Akron swept Cleveland State in doubles play before falling in all three matches to West Virginia.
