AKRON, Ohio – Akron swimmer Luka Szynal (Lublin, Poland) recently competed at the European Championships in hopes to qualify for the upcoming Olympics.
Szynal competed in the 100 and 200 backstroke events, two events in which the junior flourished in throughout the Zips season.
In the 100 meter backstroke event, Szynal clocked in with a time of 1:02.94 for a 30th rank overall and just two seconds off the FINA "A" cut (1:00.25). Szynal ranked 29th overall in the 200 meter backstroke with her time of 2.20.61. Her time was ten seconds off the FINA "A" cut time of 2:10.
