Women’s Volleyball-
The University of Akron women’s volleyball team beat rival Kent State on Friday, 3-2. The match was a close affair, as the Zips won by sets of 25-27, 25-21, 31-33, 25-21, and 15-8.
The Zips improved their record to 7-16 overall and 2-9 in the Mid-American Conference, while the Golden Flashes fell to 12-12 and 5-6 in the conference. After losing their first nine conference games, the Zips picked up back-to-back wins over Central Michigan and Kent State.
On Saturday, the Zips fell to the Ohio Bobcats, 3-1. After winning the first set 25-18, Akron was dominated from there on out.
