No.18 Akron Rifle Falls Short in Double Header

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Over the weekend, the No. 18 Akron rifle went shoulder-to-shoulder in a double-header against No. 4 Kentucky and No. 8 Nebraska.

On Nov. 4, it was a head-to-head shootout between the Zips and Wildcats. Despite posting an above average score, Akron fell to Kentucky 4,705-to-6,618.

Senior Zachary Strohl (Barto, Pa.) had an impressive smallbore score of 579, earning 7th place overall and top-gun performance for the Zips. Strohl was also the Akron top marksmen in the air rifle competition scoring a 589, landing him 5th overall. Notable performances by senior Connor O'Mara (Honeoye Falls, N.
