PHILADELPHIA, Pa- The No. 12 Akron Rifle team traveled to Philadelphia this past weekend to take on the University of Sciences and defeated the Devils by a score of 4,609-to-4,379.
Akron dominated the board in both smallbore and air rifle competitions. Junior Julia Hatch (Northfield, Vt.) posted a score of 573 in the smallbore competion, and sophomore Caleb Lloyd (Seven Valleys, Pa.) shot the top smallbore score of 577.
Air rifle had an exciting finish as senior Zachary Strohl (Barto, Pa.) fired his season high score of 590 naming him the top gun shooter of the match.
