AKRON, Ohio – Freshman Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) will be the first Zips women's golfer to tee off at a USGA Championship event on Monday, Aug. 1, at the 116th U.S. Women's Amateur hosted by Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa. Nicholson is scheduled to start the opening round from hole No. 10 at 7:59 a.m. ET.
"Danielle is making program history by being the first Zip to compete in the U.S. Women's Amateur, but most importantly, she has the opportunity to compete against some of the best amateurs in the world," Zips head coach Jenny King said.
