MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio - University of Akron track and field junior standout Clayton Murphy (New Paris, Ohio) was tabbed by the Mid-American Conference as the MAC Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
Murphy was selected as the MAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week following registering a school-record time of 1:46.11 to capture the 800-meter title at the Iowa State Classic last Saturday, Feb. 13.
Murphy's performance broke his own school-record mark by nearly a second and represented the second-fastest time in the country this season.
