Depending on how you parse what qualifies for national TV – some say ESPN3 represents national distribution, some say it doesn’t, for example. Others claim that if you’re on cable television period is not national television.
I’m not about to argue with anyone regarding one the most inane debates to occupy a sports department conversation.
That being said: the Akron Zips have six nationally televised games or they have none. Decide for yourself. What is clear is that they will be seen – largely in part because of their success last year in winning a bowl game – six times on either an ESPN channel or the CBS Sports Network.
